What happens in the event of an incident? How does Busby Alert?

If Busby detects an incident scenario the app will commence a countdown sequence which is shown on screen, or in the event, your screen is off (i.e. in a pocket) you will be notified via the notification service of your device (similar in the way to how a news app notifies you of a headline even when your phone screen is switched off or the phone is locked).

This also means that you will receive the countdown notification if you are wearing an Android or Apple watch and any other compatible smartwatch/device that shows notifications (i.e. a Garmin head unit).

The default countdown sequence is 30 seconds, although this can be configured to a maximum of 300 seconds by pressing "Profile -> Countdown Duration" and selecting the appropriate value.

If you do not dismiss the countdown timer within the allotted time, your emergency contacts will be sent your location via SMS.

Important: A data connection is required in order to raise alerts to emergency contacts. In the event that your phone does not have appropriate data connectivity, Busby will be unable to raise an alert.
