Why does Flare need location and motion permissions?

Location

Flare uses your device location to send that information to your nominated emergency contacts in the event that an incident occurs.

In addition, your real-time location is streamed to our RoadRadar platform to notify participating drivers of your presence to prevent incidents that are typically caused by a lack of driver awareness.

Important: All location data is anonymous and we are unable to link the data to a specific rider. Privacy is a key pillar of the platform architecture for Flare.

Motion

Busby monitors the sensors in your device for multiple scenarios that indicate an incident may have occurred. Without permission to the motion sensors, Flare will not work correctly.
